9 months in 9 months out

They say it takes nine months to grow a baby inside you — and then, after they’re born, nine months for them to grow outside, learning, discovering, and becoming their own little person. It’s a beautiful way to express the idea that the postpartum period is a significant transition, mirroring the length of pregnancy itself. As Philip turned nine months old a few days ago, I found myself reflecting on this magical “9 months in, 9 months out” milestone.
