I love photos, posing in front of the camera and taking thousands (yes, thousands) of photos to capture moments. In addition to my numerous photos on my phone, I scheduled a professional maternity photoshoot which was one of the best experiences during my pregnancy and I cannot recommend it enough. There’s something so empowering about dressing up, embracing your bump, and letting a photographer capture your beauty in such a unique way. The resulting photos are now some of my most treasured keepsakes.
If you’re considering a maternity photoshoot, here are a few tips to make it extra special:
- Time it Right: The best time for maternity photos is usually between 28 and 36 weeks when your bump is beautifully prominent, but you’re still comfortable enough to pose and move around.
- Pick a Meaningful Location: Whether it’s a cozy studio, a favorite park, or even your own home, choose a place that feels special to you.
- Choose Outfits You Love: Flowy dresses, form-fitting gowns, or casual comfy clothes—wear whatever makes you feel amazing and confident.
- Get Creative: Incorporate props, your partner, or even older siblings for a personal touch.
Why Photos Matter
These photos serve as a beautiful reminder of what our bodies are capable of and how much love we carry—both physically and emotionally. They’re a testament to the strength, beauty, and transformation that motherhood brings.
So if you’re pregnant, start capturing those moments—trust me, you’ll be so glad you did. And if you’ve already had a baby, take a moment to reflect on your own journey. Whether through photos, journals, or simply memories, make sure you take the time to celebrate the incredible work our bodies have done and continue to do.
I am incredibly happy with our choice of maternity photoshoot photographer. She also did our newborn photoshoot when Philip was only a couple of weeks old. This is her Instagram page and her website Diana Toth Photography – feel free to reach out to her for a beautiful photoshoot!
